NUSA CODE OF CONDUCT

Our goal is to be a club that leads the way by connecting with our families, community, and in instilling core values and positive character traits in our players.  We recognize the importance of developing individuals that have the highest integrity, sound communication skills, and are both confident and secure. These are traits that will last a lifetime and take them well beyond the game of soccer.

AS A PARENT IN THE NASHVILLE UNITED SOCCER ACADEMY, I WILL:

  • Be encouraging, supportive, and affirmative in regard to our child’s play on the soccer field.  Doing one’s best is more important than winning.

  • Respect officials and accept their decisions -- remember they are someone else’s son or daughter.

  • Familiarize yourself with the Laws of the Game

  • Encourage your son or daughter to always play by the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence

  • Support the players and coaches of Nashville United Soccer Academy

  • Remember that children participate to have fun and that the game is for the kids, not the adults.

  • Applaud good plays by your team and members of the opposing team

  • Always encourage your child to be gracious in victory and courteous in defeat.

  • Treat all coaches, players, game officials, administrators and opposing fans with respect at all times; regardless of race, sex, creed, or ability.

  • Comply with the Rules, Policies, and Procedures (including Financial Commitment) of the Team and the Nashville United Soccer Academy.

  • Refrain from coaching my child or other players during games and practice, unless I am one of the official coaches of the team.

  • Only discuss our son or daughter’s status on the team with the Coach at a time and place mutually agreed upon by the coach.  This time must not be prior to, during or directly after a game.

  • Communicate with my child’s coach about any physical disability or ailment that may affect the safety of my child or the safety of others.

  • Make every effort to have my child attend all training sessions and games, and notify the coach if they will be late or absent.

  • Be prompt when picking up my child.

  • Volunteer my time, talent and services to the Club when possible

  • Participate in Outreach Opportunities when asked

  • Be a positive role model for my child and represent the Nashville United Soccer Academy with Character, Integrity, Commitment, and Sportsmanship at all times.

AS A PLAYER IN THE NASHVILLE UNITED SOCCER ACADEMY, I WILL:

  • Train and play to the best of my ability.

  • Have a positive attitude and never quit

  • Only give positive encouragement to my teammates

  • Be respectful and courteous to game officials and accept their decisions without comment during or after the game.

  • Learn and obey the Laws of the game

  • Treat my coaches, teammates, opposing coaches and players, officials, and fans with respect at all times regardless of race, sex, creed, or ability.

  • Comply with the Rules, Policies, and Procedures (including Financial Commitment) of the Team and the Nashville United Soccer Academy.

  • Be prompt and prepared for all training and games with the proper equipment and mental attitude

  • Notify my coach or team manager if I will be late or unable to attend a training session, game, or other team events

  • Immediately report any injury to my coach.

  • Display sportsmanship at the conclusion of a game by being humble and gracious in victory and courteous in defeat

  • Remember that I am also a student and stay current in my studies

  • Always represent the Nashville United Soccer Academy with Character, Integrity, Commitment, and Sportsmanship
